National Lampoon's Animal House

Customer Reviews

I love the movie "Animal House"! Brings me back to my college days. I took my girlfriend (now my wife of 30 years.) For a new film, to give hype, I do not remember now the name was visible. When we entered the theater told us that we are free to a second film and asked to talk about those, of course, be poor college students we are thrilled to see a movie they were free. Well, if we left the theater so much our sides have been hurt byLaughing so hard. In fact, I've never seen a person who meets this movie hated!

Here are some things that I think the film has for them. First of all, fun film comes at a very nostalgic of America. In 1962, the stern of the "feel good" years of American society, where everyone has reliable govt. and other institutions have been met. In the film, this is America's cardigan stuck-up, nor any member of the Omega House embodies. The delta-house characters are those thatWho in America in this action, they are students who will be in a few years to change American society forever by the Vietnam War protest. This is a time (the Pentagon Papers, the secret bombing of Cambodia, Watergate, etc.), wake up Americans to the truth, that their government. it is clean and he lied.

Second, the Delta House brothers, what every college kid wanted to do the time, had a great time in school not to worry about their quality or future, andlived in the moment. 1978 was a time when college kids were funny, but the darkness of life on our heads. This was during the years of Carter's "malaise" that the interest rates of 18%, jobs were scarce for graduates, inflation was high. We all wanted to as "Bluto" seven years in school, had his pre-med!

Thirdly, the music was incredible! We are exposed to early rock n roll 'with "Louie Louie" and other sizes. At the end of a very funny film that showed how college kidsFun could have.

By the way, for next year, Sharon and I are going to "toga" parties at least once every two weeks. In fact, I took one of the great lines of the film. If "Flounder" to complain, as his brother's car was destroyed in a recent "Road Trip", Bluto says, "is to start drinking heavily." Every time a friend of mine in a "fix" is I give them advice Bluto famous. All my friends know me for this offer!

Hey, I am a Miami University grad,I need to say more, because I love this movie!

The Remains of the Day

Customer Reviews

The next movie from the creators of "Howards End", which combines the two protagonists of the film stylish and sophisticated (Sir Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson-wife. Thompson with the best actress in this film won Mr. Hopkins for his representation of steel Hannibal Lecter in the cooling psycho-thriller "The Silence of the Lambs") is another jewel in the crown of the Merchant-Ivory. In other cast and excellent production values, this is a great film that will be addedYour collection. The 2/1/2 hour, could be a path for the younger generation, but who cares what their taste? This movie is for those who appreciate classic films known as "Ben Hur"
"Dr. Zhivago", with the wind, Gone, "" The Sound Of Music ", etc. These films and others that I abstain from those due to word limits are reviews family film that deserves a wider audience (eg, being seen from the current generation, as well as those who saw their originaltheatrical run). I only had a chance to see the deleted scenes, and frankly, it's quite interesting to see what to cut from the film, and why. I recommend this movie. With PG for adult themes.

Flappers, Speakeasies, and the Birth of Modern Culture

Customer Reviews

They say that history repeats itself. After watching the video flappers I tend to agree. We passed by the grace period of depression in the twenties. And we've basically done the same thing today. Instead of exchange controls, we managed to stop the descent into depression. Women are now leading figures in the world of work and took control of the media.
That's why I like looking back in time to see, because you know what was happening.
